RAISE project coordination meeting held

PKSF Chairman Zakir Ahmed Khan emphasized on the need for quality training for the youth of Bangladesh and creation of decent employment opportunities abroad. He urged PKSF and its Partner Organizations (POs) to take a leading role in this regard.
He made these remarks while speaking as the Chair at the RAISE project coordination meeting on 25 February 2025, at PKSF Bhaban. He stated, “For overseas employment, learning foreign languages is just as important as quality technical training.”
PKSF Managing Director Md Fazlul Kader highlighted the importance of developing a skilled workforce suited for technology-driven workplaces.
Earlier, Dilip Kumar Chakravorty, General Manager (Program) of PKSF and RAISE Project Coordinator, gave a presentation on ‘Progress of RAISE & Future Pathways’.
The first session of the meeting was inaugurated by PKSF Deputy Managing Director AQM Golam Mawla.
The meeting was attended by Executive Directors, Project Focal Persons, and Coordinators from RAISE project implementing POs, and PKSF’s Panel Leaders, Dealing Officers, and officials from the RAISE Project Management Unit.
Since February 2022, PKSF has been implementing the five-year, USD 250 million Recovery and Advancement of Informal Sector Employment (RAISE) project. Under the project, 183,000 youths and micro-entrepreneurs from the informal sector are receiving inclusive financial services and capacity-building support.
