Nurun Nahar

Ms. Nurun Nahar is currently serving as the Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank. She joined Bangladesh Bank in 1989. In almost 35 years of central banking career, she has worked in different positions in various departments and offices of Bangladesh Bank.

Her current portfolio at Bangladesh Bank includes Human Resources Department, Debt Management Department, Financial Integrity and Customer Services Department, Financial Stability Department, Sustainable Finance Department, National Financial Inclusion Strategy Administrative Unit, Financial Sector Support and Strategic Planning Department, Financial Inclusion Department, Deposit Insurance Department, Expenditure Management Department, Law Department and Department of Communications and Publications.

She completed her MBA from the Asian University of Bangladesh and her B.Sc. from Dhaka University. After that, she completed a Banking Diploma from the Institute of Bankers Bangladesh. She has served as a Visiting Lecturer at the training institutes of Private Commercial Banks and an Examiner at the Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh.  Apart from these, she is a faculty member of Bangladesh Bank Training Academy.
