Consultation meeting to address drinking water crisis in the coastal areas
The Environment and Climate Change Unit of PKSF arranged an online consultation meeting on 07 November 2021 to exchange experiences of installing Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants in the coastal regions of Bangladesh to reduce drinking water crisis in those areas.
PKSF’s Managing Director Dr Nomita Halder ndc chaired the meeting. Additional Managing Directors Mr Md Fazlul Kader and Dr Md Jashim Uddin shared their valuable experiences on the RO plants. Dr AKM Nuruzzaman, General Manager of PKSF moderated the open discussion session that discussed about the challenges of establishing RO plants, site selection, plant management, operation and maintenance, wastewater management, water distribution, legal issues, and sustainability.
Deputy Managing Director Dr Fazle Rabbi Sadeque Ahmed and other senior officials of PKSF attended the meeting. In addition, and Executive Directors/representatives of 14 Partner Organizations (POs) of PKSF that have experiences on installing and operating RO plants were also present in the meeting.
