EU Head of Development Cooperation visits PKSF
A meeting between PKSF and its development partner, the European Union (EU) was held on 22 February 2024 at PKSF Bhaban in Agargaon, Dhaka. Dr Nomita Halder ndc, Managing Director of PKSF presided over the meeting. The EU delegation led by Michal Krejza, Head of Development Cooperation of the European Union Delegation to Bangladesh, included Edwin Koekkoek, Team Leader, Green Inclusive Development and Social Protection; Meher Nigar Bhuiyan, Programme Manager, Resilient Livelihoods; and Margherita Capalbi, Programme Manager, Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition.
Dr Sharif Ahmed Chowdhury, Project Director of PPEPP-EU, gave a presentation on the progress and results of the ongoing EU-funded PPEPP-EU project, PKSF’s multi-dimensional activities and the potential areas of future cooperation between the EU and PKSF. The EU representatives appreciated PKSF’s activities and expressed satisfaction with the overall progress of the ongoing PPEPP-EU project. Besides, Michal Krejza urged PKSF to organize a national workshop to disseminate the results of the PPEPP-EU project at the national level.
In the meeting, the EU and PKSF officials discussed about implementing climate adaptation and climate-resilient food system development activities. The EU delegation expressed an interest in collaborating on these initiatives of PKSF.
PKSF’s Senior Deputy Managing Director Golam Tauhid, Deputy Managing Director AQM Golam Mawla, General Manager Dr AKM Nuruzzaman, General Manager (Agriculture) Dr Md Abdul Malek and other officials attended the meeting.
