Special Initiative to Promote Products of Microentrepreneurs

PKSF has undertaken a special initiative to promote the products of the microenterprise sector across the country. Aligning with the objectives of PKSF’s strategic plan 2025-2030, the 263rd Board Meeting approved the establishment of a new unit titled the ‘ME Promotion Centre (MPC).’ As a result, an integrated marketing hub is being developed at PKSF Bhaban-2 in Shyamoli, Dhaka. This Centre will support to product display, branding, and market linkage activities. Through this initiative, the quality of microenterprise (ME) products is expected to improve. At the same time, it will help ensure sustainable market expansion and access to wider national and international markets.
A planning meeting on the operational framework of the unit was held on 10 February 2026, presided over by the Managing Director. The meeting emphasized region-based product branding; QR code–based packaging and labeling; live displays of production processes; video teasers and storytelling; digital promotion and marketing; the formation of cluster-based producer associations; and the development of MPC as a product knowledge hub. The meeting also discussed increasing sales of value-added and certified products, ensuring fair competition among entrepreneurs, and providing exhibition-based incubation support. It was further agreed that product-specific fairs may be organized from time to time to promote seasonal or specialized products more effectively.
According to information presented at the meeting, more than 300 types of marketable products produced by microentrepreneurs are currently available in the market. Among these, over one hundred products have obtained internationally recognized certifications such as ISO, BSTI, HALAL, and HACCP, and a significant number of ME products are export-ready. It was noted that through product quality improvement, certification support, better working environments, and stronger market linkages, MPC will play an important role as an effective marketing hub. The meeting was attended by Deputy Managing Director Dr. Akond Mohammad Rafiqul Islam and other PKSF officials.
