More disadvantaged women, ethnic minorities to get skill training
PKSF signed a contract with RISDA Bangladesh and Specialized Geriatric Care Institute (SGCI) on 22 December 2022, as a New Partner Institutes under Tranche-3 of SEIP. Dr Md. Jashim Uddin, Additional Managing Director, PKSF, Md Hemayet Hossain, Executive Director, RISDA-Bangladesh and Salina Akhter, Managing Director, Specialized Geriatric Care Institute (SGCI) were signed the contracts on behalf of their respective organizations. Md Ziauddin Iqbal, Senior General Manager of PKSF and Chief Coordinator of PKSF-SEIP and other officials of SEIP unit and TIs were also present on the occasion.
Under the arrangement, RISDA Bangladesh will be responsible to provide 3-month long residential training on “Refrigeration and Air conditioning” and “Fashion Garments” trades in Birulia, Savar and SGCI will provide 6 month long residential training on “Caregiving” trade in Manikganj district. Both of the training institutes will prioritize disadvantaged female youth and ethnic minority groups to enhance their efficiency, sector specific competency and productivity. The training institutes will also be responsible to ensure at least 60% employment to the certified trainees after successful completion of training. It is mentionable that PKSF has already completed training of 27,971 trainees under SEIP project of which 71% are placed in gainful employment in respective job sector.
