RMTP-supported entrepreneur Reshma wins ‘Youth Volunteer Award 2025’

Suraiya Farhana Reshma, an entrepreneur supported by PKSF’s RMTP project, has received the ‘Youth Volunteer Award 2025’. In recognition of her voluntary work and inspirational contributions to the young generation, she received the award from Hon’ble Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus on 16 September 2025.
Reshma is an entrepreneur supported by the sub-project titled ‘Market system development of safe meat and dairy products’ under the RMTP project implemented through Gram Unnayan Karma (GUK), a Partner Organization of PKSF in Sherpur, Bogura. She produces about 250 tonnes of vermicompost every month on her own land. Alongside this, she is providing training to local youth in poultry rearing, vermicompost production and marketing. Currently, 25 individuals are working in her farm.
The Rural Microenterprise Transformation Project (RMTP) is being implemented across the country with funding from PKSF, IFAD, and Danida for the development of the microenterprise sector. In addition to expanding financial services for microenterprises, the project is providing support to improve the income, food security, and nutritional status of 611,491 small and marginal farmers, entrepreneurs, and other market actors engaged in selected high-value agricultural product value chains.
