WB Delegation Meets PKSF Managing Director

PKSF Managing Director Dr Nomita Halder NDC met with a delegation of The World Bank at her office on 09 May 2022. They talked about the current progress of the Sustainable Enterprise Project (SEP) and future possibilities.

Md Fazlul Kader, Additional Managing Director of PKSF; Eun Joo Allison Yi, Task Team Leader of SEP, and other relevant officials were also present at the meeting. Zahir Uddin Ahmed, Project Coordinator of SEP presented on the progress of SEP and projected features of the SEP Phase II.

The meeting followed a field visit by the World Bank team led by Christophe Crepin, Sector Leader, Social, Environmental and Rural Development Unit, East Asia and Pacific Region. They visited the ‘Promoting Environment-Friendly and Specialized Loom Products’ sub-project activities implemented through Tarango, a Partner Organization of PKSF. At its Mirpur center in Dhaka, Tarango showcased handicrafts and naturally dyed products. The World Bank officials talked to some SEP-supported micro-entrepreneurs there as well.
