MoU Signed with Ministry of Finance for Providing Skills Training
PKSF signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Skills Development Coordination and Monitoring Unit (SDCMU) of the Finance Division, Ministry of Finance for the extension of Skills for Employment Investment Program (SEIP) as Tranche-3, on 24 December 2020. Mr. Md Fazlul Kader, Deputy Managing Director of PKSF and Mr. Md Zahidul Haque, Executive Project Director of SEIP signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. Tranche-3 will be effective from July 2021.
PKSF will receive BDT 49.99 crore as grant from the Government to create gainful employment through skills development training. With this support, PKSF will provide training to 12,000 youths of low-income households in 15 selected trades in eight priority sectors through 29 renowned training institutes by December 2023 with a view to create productive self and wage employment. Among the training recipients, at least 60% will be placed in gainful employment. Under this project, training will be fully residential to facilitate participation of the youths, women and persons with disabilities (PWDs) from the remote areas.
