PKSF provides BDT 5.71 million to cyclone Remal-affected people
PKSF has provided financial assistance of BDT 5.71 million to 5,731 families that were affected by Cyclone ‘Remal’ recently. Each of the families that have membership of PKSF POs Ad-din Welfare Centre and Unnayan Prochesta in Dakop upazila of Khulna and in Assasuni upazila of Satkhira district has received BDT 1000.
This financial assistance was given through a project titled ‘The Project for Developing Inclusive Risk Mitigation Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction (IRMP)’ implemented by PKSF with technical support from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The project is being implemented in the coastal areas of Bangladesh through 7 Partner Organizations (POs) of PKSF.
This information was shared in the 3rd Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) meeting of the IRMP project held at PKSF Bhaban on 05 June 2024. The progress of the project and upcoming activities were discussed in the meeting. Chaired by Dr Nomita Halder ndc, Managing Director of PKSF, Senior Representative of JICA Takeshi Komori and other senior officials of PKSF and JICA were present in the meeting. Besides, officials from JICA Headquarters in Japan joined the meeting virtually.
