Special emphasis to be given on agro-ecological farming: PKSF MD
To promote safe agriculture, special emphasis will be placed on agro-ecological farming, said PKSF Managing Director Md Fazlul Kader.
Presiding over a workshop on Budget Orientation and Activity Review of PKSF’s Agriculture Unit for FY 2025–26, held on 09 December 2025 at PKSF Bhaban-1, he said that excessive dependence on chemical inputs is gradually destroying the vitality of the soil. As a result, soil productivity is declining. In addition, such dependence is causing harmful impacts on soil, water, the environment, and human health. The most sustainable and effective way to overcome this challenge is agro-ecological farming. Through this approach, farmers are not only able to restore the natural fertility of the soil but also ensure production at a lower cost than using chemical inputs.
Among others, PKSF Deputy Managing Director Dr Akond Md Rafiqul Islam, Chief Executives of PKSF’s Partner Organizations, and technical experts from PKSF and its POs were present at the workshop.
