Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) and Department of Agricultural Marketing (DAM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 21 November 2021 with the objective of achieving food and nutrition security and poverty alleviation by developing modern agricultural marketing through partnership and collaboration.
Dr Nomita Halder ndc, Managing Director, PKSF chaired the occasion. Mohammad Yousuf, Director General, DAM and Mr Golam Touhid, Senior Deputy Managing Director, PKSF signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations. Under the MoU, the farmers under the programs and projects of PKSF will be involved in DAM-operated market hubs/cluster. Moreover, DAM will provide technical support in processing and post-harvest management of agricultural products; assist in accessing international market of safe vegetables/fruits; assist in alleviating regulatory barriers that hinders farmers’ access to market; and provide relevant publications, technical information, training as well as assistance to disseminate the technologies connected with the interventions of PKSF. DAM will assist in developing ‘production protocol/process certification’ for safe fruits/vegetables. Besides, DAM will also help develop post-harvest management skill of the technical staff of PKSF and its Partner Organizations (POs). PKSF will ensure overall cooperation to DAM to facilitate its services to the targeted famers.
