National Anti-Tobacco Platform organized a seminar to mark the ‘World No Tobacco Day-2023’ on 28th May 2023 at PKSF Bhaban. Dr Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad, Chairman of Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) presided over the seminar. Professor Dr Pran Gopal Datta, Former Vice-Chancellor, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University was the Honorary Guest of the program while Professor Dr Arup Ratan Choudhury, Founder President of Association for the Prevention of Drug Abuse (MANAS) and member of the National Drug Control Board and National Tobacco Control Task Force of Bangladesh was the distinguished speaker. In the seminar, Golam Touhid, Senior Deputy Managing Director of PKSF delivered the welcome remarks.

Md Hasan Shahriar, Director and Head of Program at PROGGA, made a presentation on ‘Stronger Tobacco Control Act for Sustainable Development: Bangladesh Context’ and Dr Sharif Ahmed Chowdhury, Project Director, PPEPP-EU project of PKSF made another presentation on ‘Grow food, quit tobacco-PKSF’s effort’. In addition, a booklet titled ‘কৃষি জমিতে আর নয় তামাক’ (No more tobacco on farmland) was unveiled in the program.
